tami smithTami Smith received an honours bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and her diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Health Sciences from the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine.

Tami has an avid interest in the field of alternative medicine and continues to stay abreast of new developments in this field.   In addition to her private practice, Tami has been a board member for the OHA (Ontario Homeopathic Association) and works part time as the clinical director at the Ontario College of Homeopathic medicine.

Tami's private practice incorporates classical homeopathy, holistic nutrition and reflexology.

Homeopathy
Homeopathy as a system of medicine treats patients using minute quantities of various plant, animal and mineral products to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities.  As a holistic form of medicine homeopathy takes into account the individuals total symptom picture; that is their physical, mental and emotional being and then prescribes a remedy based on this totality. Homeopathy treats the person as a whole rather than just the symptoms so it can improve on all levels of the body and mind.  Homeopathic remedies act deeply to stimulate the body's own defenses rather than suppressing symptoms. Homeopathy has been shown to be effective in treating a wide variety of conditions including but not limited to: arthritis, asthma and allergies, colds and flu’s, skin conditions, heart conditions, injuries etc.  Homeopathy can be used for people of all ages and also for pets.

Nutrition
In her practice Tami has found that many of her patients have ailments that can be impacted by the quality of their nutrition.  As such, she also offers her patients nutritional counselling as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with other treatments to bring about healing.

Reflexology and Stress Reduction
It is estimated that more than 80% of all illness is stress related. By reducing stress and taking time to relax we not only decrease our susceptibility to illnesses but also assist our body's natural healing and recuperative powers.

Foot reflexology is a technique of focused pressure on the feet based on the premise that all parts, glands and organs of the body are represented in the feet.  Stimulating these reflexes clears stress from organs or glands and induces general relaxation thereby helping the healing to begin. Reflexology is not a stand alone treatment but complements all other modalities including modern medicine.

Even if you are fortunate enough to be in perfect health a reflexology treatment is a great way to relax and unwind from a busy schedule.
